Not many people can say they started investing at age 13, but that’s exactly how Dan’s lifelong interest in finance began. He made his first investment in the stock market as a teen with the encouragement of his mother.
Dan founded Hickory Asset Management in 2008 with a goal of helping as many people as possible gain financial independence. His 35 years of experience as a financial advisor have given him a wealth of knowledge to draw from when guiding families and individuals towards their goals. His passion for guiding others continues to grow as he witnesses the positive impact his guidance has had on the lives of his clients and their families.
Before beginning his own firm, Dan spent many years serving in the financial industry in different capacities. He worked for New England Securities, ValMark Securities, and later L.M. Kohn and Company. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1988 with a degree in business administration and a major in finance. He later earned his designation as a Chartered Financial Consultant® from the American College of Financial Services.
Dan and his wife, Karen, split their time between Concord Township, Ohio and their winter home in Naples, Florida. They enjoy traveling together and visiting new places. Dan also enjoys hiking in the Lake Metroparks and golfing with his sons, Brandon and Kyle.
